Prolong the Life of Your System with the Optimal Scale Inhibitor
Hard water buildup can quietly wreck your water heater over time — shortening its lifespan, degrading performance, and costing you money in repairs. That’s why we created the Optimal Scale Inhibitor: a simple, affordable solution designed to prevent mineral buildup in your system.
The best part? You can install it yourself in minutes.
Whether you're a seasoned DIYer or just handy enough to turn a wrench, this quick guide will walk you through the benefits of installing a scale inhibitor and how easy it is to do it yourself — no plumber required.
Why You Need a Scale Inhibitor (Even If Your System Seems Fine)
If your water contains calcium, magnesium, or other hard minerals, those elements can accumulate on your system’s heating elements and heat exchanger, leading to scale buildup. Over time, this buildup reduces heating efficiency and can even damage your equipment.
Our scale inhibitor uses premium polyphosphate pellets that dissolve gradually to coat those internal parts — essentially making it harder for scale to stick or bond. As those pellets dissolve, they coat the heating elements and the heat exchanger so that buildup cannot bond or stick to those parts.
This small filter can dramatically extend the life of your water heater and reduce maintenance costs over time.
How Long Does It Last?
The polyphosphate pellets inside the filter dissolve slowly over time — but the harder your water, the faster they’ll dissolve. Depending on how hard your water is… you want to be able to change the filter out every six to twelve months. Changing the filter is just as easy as the initial install. Simply unscrew the old cartridge and replace it with a new one.
